Suspicious activity alert - Norwich

Please be aware! We've received a couple of reports of suspicious activity this afternoon (2 September) in the Lakenham and Tuckswood areas of Norwich.
The first report relates to a call we received at 12:15pm today regarding a woman knocking on doors on Doman Road, claiming to be from Virgin Media and asking to carry out Wi-Fi speed checks.

The second report relates to a call we received just after 1:30pm regarding a group of men knocking on doors on Lyhart Road offering to tarmac driveways. They were also seen on Welsford Road.

Doorstep rogue traders can pretend to be builders, gardeners or handymen offering to carry out work or 'urgent' repairs to your house or garden. The work is often poor, unnecessary and the price quoted can increase rapidly.

Before agreeing to any work or allowing anyone into your home:
• Do not feel pressured into making an immediate decision.
• Obtain quotes from reputable traders and seek recommendations where possible.
• Avoid handing over large sums of money upfront.
• Ask for identification and company details.
• Speak to a trusted friend or family member before agreeing to any work.
• Contact police if you feel intimidated or believe you may be the victim of a scam.
